Our route mostly followed Andy Robinson's guidebook 'The End to End Trail'.
Andy has a website for the book, now in its second edition, at http://www.longwalks.org.uk
We did however make a number of changes:
- We chose to walk the Pennine Way from the start.
- We live in the North Pennines, so diverted home. Our routed left the Pennine Way at Garrigill and rejoined it where it leaves Hadrians Wall.
- We had previously walked the West Highland Way so devised our own route from Drymen to Fort William - 'The Wet 'n Wild Way!'
- Minor changes to get to campsites and other locations off route etc.
Our route is available for download in gpx form matching the sections described in the guidebook. This is the route as recorded daily on our gps (apart from one day when the record was lost as batteries were changed so the route was edited back in!), with minor logging errors removed.
